Psychoeducational and Neuropsychological Testing

SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists will provide comprehensive Psychoeducational and Neuropsychological Testing and evaluations for individual of all ages to help determine the strengths and challenges they might be facing with regard to cognitive and intellectual ability. Results of testing will help establish how best an individual learns by comparing auditory and visual processing skills and by assessing mental focus, concentration, distractibility, processing speed, executive functioning, visual-motor integration skills, and overall neuropsychological functioning. Testing can help determine whether or not a learning disorder or any other processes impairing academic functioning are present.

Psychoeducational and Neuropsychological Testing will help determine diagnoses of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Reading Disorder, Mathematics Disorder, Disorder of Written Expression, Dyslexia, and Expressive and Receptive Language Disorders. SBHS also provides admissions testing for undergraduate colleges and universities, and for private elementary, middle, and high schools where individual academic accommodations may be needed as a result of ADHD or a learning disorder.

Once testing has been completed, SBHS will provide you with a confidential report that summarizes all test findings, provides definitive conclusions and diagnoses, assists with IEP considerations, and provides comprehensive treatment recommendations. Feedback sessions are also available with SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists to discuss and clarify test results and assist with establishing a course of treatment.

Emotional and Personality Testing

SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists can provide comprehensive Emotional and Personality Testing and evaluations for individuals of all ages to help determine the presence and severity of emotional problems like Depression and Bipolar Disorder; anxiety-related problems like Phobias, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), and Separation Anxiety Disorder; overt behavioral problems like Oppositional Defiant Disorder and Conduct Disorder, and Reactive Attachment Disorder; and other serious mental illnesses such as Schizophrenia, Schizoaffective Disorder, Delusional Disorder, and Dissociative Disorder. Testing will also help diagnose and understand the nature of illnesses such as Borderline, Narcissistic, Histrionic, and Antisocial Personality Disorders.

Once testing has been completed, individuals and families will be provided with a confidential report that summarizes the findings, provides definitive conclusions and diagnoses, assists with IEP considerations, and provides comprehensive treatment recommendations. Developmental Testing

SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists will provide comprehensive Developmental Testing and evaluations for individuals of all ages to help determine the presence and severity of symptoms related to Pervasive Developmental Disorders (PDD) such as Autism and Asperger's, and to differentiate such symptoms from those associated with ADHD, Mood Disorders, and other behavioral problems. Developmental Testing will also help with medication considerations and other treatment recommendations for specific Developmental Disorders, and assist private schools in developing individualized academic accommodations.

Once testing has been completed, individuals and families will be provided with a comprehensive, confidential report that summarizes the findings, provides definitive conclusions and diagnoses, assists with IEP considerations, and provides treatment recommendations. Feedback sessions are also available with SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists to further discuss and clarify test results and establish a course of treatment.

Substance Use Testing

SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists will provide comprehensive Substance Use Testing and evaluations for individuals of all ages to help determine the presence and severity of symptoms related to substance use disorders, and to differentiate such symptoms from those associated with mood disorders, personality disorders, cognitive impairment, and other behavioral problems.

Results of the SBHS evaluation will help establish or rule out the presence of a Substance Use Disorder, help with differential diagnosis, and assist with medication considerations and treatment recommendations. Specifically, Substance Use Testing will help determine diagnoses of Alcohol Abuse and Dependence, Marijuana Abuse and Dependence, and other Substance-Related Disorders.

Once testing has been completed, individuals and families will be provided with a comprehensive, confidential report that summarizes the findings, provides definitive conclusions and diagnoses, and provides treatment recommendations. Forensic Testing

SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists will provide comprehensive Juvenile and Adult Forensic Testing and evaluations to assist in both criminal and civil matters. Such matters include determinations of criminal intent, culpability, risk, and judicial competency; parental rights, child custody, and the best interests of children; and disability and compensation.

Once testing has been completed, individuals, families, attorneys, and/or courts will be provided with a confidential report that summarizes the findings, offers definitive conclusions and diagnoses, and provides comprehensive treatment recommendations. Depending on the nature of the case, feedback sessions may also available with SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists to further discuss and clarify test results and establish a course of treatment.

Behavioral-Medical Testing

SBHS Licensed Clinical Psychologists will provide comprehensive Behavioral-Medical Testing and evaluations to help assess competency, preparedness, and emotional stability prior to medical procedures such as bariatric, gastric bypass, and Lap-B surgery. This can provide patients and physicians with an understanding of pertinent mental health considerations as medical surgery is prepared, including diagnoses, medication recommendations, and suggestions for counseling. .
